Half-day Coasteering For Two Experience Gifts Everything you were told never to do as a child by the sea! This is not simply swimming in the sea, climbing on the rocks or cliff jumping. This is a novel mix of exploration, adventure and adrenaline at the level you want it to be: from nervous newbie to extreme exhilaration! Coasteering gives a very different perspective on the stunning Pembrokeshire coastline run by Britain's leading centre of excellence for this funky sport. Locations North Pembrokeshire (Wales) Agenda Adventure sessions begin at 9am or 1.30pm and last approximately 3½ hours including travel time. After an introductory briefing you will change into a wetsuit, buoyancy aid and other safety equipment before taking a short minibus ride to the activity venue. You will need to provide trainers, swim-wear, tracksuit bottoms/ long shorts (to wear over your wetsuit!), a towel and warm clothing. During the session you will be led by an experienced Coasteer guide to scramble, climb, swim and jump along the fantastic Pembrokeshire coastline. Other activities available. During the course you will start with kneeboarding before progressing to standing up (we hope!) All the equipment and instruction is provided. An ideal course for people thinking about taking the sport up as a hobby. Locations Gloucestershire (South West), Milton Keynes (Midlands) Agenda Once you have changed into your wetsuit you will be given a full safety briefing and instruction on the basics. Then take to the water on a cable system initially on a kneeboard. You will have one hour of kneeboarding to familiarise yourself with how the cable pulls and how to take the corners. Once you are confident on the kneeboard you will progress onto waterskis. Again you will receive tuition on land before returning to the water for two hours of waterskiing. You will then have two further hours to improve what you have learned*. Introduction To Sailing Experience Gifts Clipper 60, Taeping, has an impressive history, successfully completing four circumnavigations around the world. This day introduces participants to the principles of sailing in a relaxed, informal environment. A real hands on day out - everyone has the chance to actively crew the yacht, taking a turn at aspects from steering to working on the foredeck. Throughout the day the professional skipper and mate will be on hand to teach crew members the basics of sailing and talk them through all the manoeuvres. Locations Hampshire (South East) Agenda The crew meet at 10am in the marina for a cup of tea or coffee and safety brief about the boat. Then head up Southampton Water into the open area of the Solent. Lunch is provided onboard. You are welcome to sit back and enjoy the ride, however you will be encouraged to take part in the sailing which will involve taking the helm, hoisting and trimming sails.
